The food we consume every day is classified in a food group by utilising there nutritional properties and functionality& theses groups are made according to it .Our human body desire all the nutrition required to get well build, repair & hydrated. for such we have to take food item from each food group so that our all macro and micro nutrition may get balanced and adequate for proper functioning of body system.
The basis food group category are:-

2. Protective
3. Energy
to achieve a healthy lifestyle and remain in good shape for long lasting years it is being very necessary to eat food from these food group in every meal of every day.
BUILDING FOOD
Building food are the group of food whose main aim is to build the new muscles or organ cells in our body. Building foods mainly contains the essential and non essential amino acid collectively called as protein which is must needed to bring a new life to muscles cell. As a bodybuilder ,who tears his muscles by regularly flexing or working out in gyms , there muscles get damaged and frequently needs a repair , these food group helps the muscles to repair faster & smooth to get ready for coming stress in next gym sessions, here the new fibres are coming which is more strong then previous one in order to handle the stress. thus it being a continuous process and building of new muscles cell or muscles mass gives bodybuilder a strong and denser looking muscles.
This food group include chicken, fish ,meat eggs, dairy products etc
PROTECTIVE FOOD
Protective food gives protection against various harmful effect caused by foods & toxic , it take up the waste inside and flush it out so that our system will work more smoother. They mainly contain fibre either soluble or in soluble as they are a undigested part of foods so they get attached with waste and move it to excrete , it helps body for regular bowl movement.
This food group include fruits & vegetables
ENERGY FOOD
Energy food as per it's name it gives us energy to perform a day to day activity either physical or mental. This is the most essential part of food system , we can't move with a greater efficiency if there is no energy foods.The body store the energy in the form of glycogen (in muscle and liver )and in the form of stored fat for future use inside a adipose tissue inside our skin.
This food group include manly carbohydrates and fats example :- rice, brown rice, potato ,ghee, cheese,butter etc
