Hypoglycaemia
Hypoglycaemia is the state of body in which the blood glucose level fall below 2.2 mmol/L , which is also a serious condition in which a body can go to coma , seizure and death also. in simple language a state of low blood glucose level is called hypoglycaemia.
It being a life threatening disease
sign and symptoms of hypoglycaemia are :-
1. sweating
2. trembling
3. dizziness
4. mood changes
5. hunger
6. headache
7. blurred vision
8. extrem tiredness
9. paleness
Hyperglycaemia
Hyperglycaemia is the state of body in which the blood glucose level rise above 6mmol/L , thus body is not being in homeostasis state .
Hyperglycaemia is also a life threatening disease not as immediate as hypoglycaemia . A constant short term & long term high blood sugar is dangerous to health as it causes kidney diseases , eye problem & atherosclerosis (inflammation of blood vessels.
it also result in plaque build up in walls of blood vessels.
sign and symptoms of hyperglycaemia are :-
1. dry mouth
2. extreme thrust
3. frequently urge to urinate
4. drowsiness
5. frequent bed wetting
6. stomach pain
Both hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia are due to the result of action of insulin in our body. Insulin is being the hormone produce by pancreas when we eat a carbohydrate containing meal , it’s main function is to utilise the glucose of carb meal. it take it to muscles cell for glycogen or it store this energy in fat cells. Whenever we eat a carb food after digestion it’s smallest 7 simplest unit a glucose will delivers in blood stream . If body produce less insulin then there is a large portion of blood glucose will be not utilised and will remain in blood stream resulting a high blood glucose level also called hyperglycaemia and the other side of it when body produce large mount of insulin it take up all glucose for storage & energy which results in low blood glucose level also called hypoglycaemia.
Thus we have to maintain a state between both which is known as Homeostasis to maintain a normal blood glucose level. The specific range of normal blood glucose level is between 2 mmol/L TO 6 mmol/L.
